About

My design philosophy revolves around simplicity and originality, always prioritising the end user.

Me in London.

Me in London.

A little bit about me

As a hands-on Senior Design Manager and UX specialist, I lead the conceptual design and creative on web and print projects. For larger deliverables I assemble teams of experts and guide the brief from milestone to milestone, plugging in my management experience to make sure each job is scoped, designed and delivered on time. That’s proven week in, week out at Styles Webbin, a London-based design studio that I founded in 2009. We have five stars on Google for a reason.

I’ve delivered imaginative design experiences for globally-recognised names such as Siemens, UNESCO, Experian, BT, the University of London, The International Tibet Foundation and DHL. But just as important is the experience I have gathered while working with ingenious startups on paper-thin budgets. From tech to healthcare, both agency and client-side, I’ve earned my stripes via hundreds of design projects.

It all began in Yorkshire where I studied a Higher National Diploma in Multimedia Design at Sheffield University, graduating with a Distinction. Then after launching my design career in Nottingham at PDG Graphics (later Chemistry Digital), I moved to London and joined Spring Digital. Over five years I was rewarded with increasingly senior positions before becoming responsible for a team of five designers as Head of Design.

Side projects keep your skills sharp, and I have two that I’m proud of. Flexidesk is an affordable standing desk that I led the product design on, and preRace is an app that helps everyone from amateur runners to elite athletes prepare for their next event. For both businesses I have overseen the branding, marketing and creative process from concept to completion. Watch this space for more.
